in this Australia trip....

1) I have done more washing of dishes (at work, at the house) than my 21 years combined.

2) I have drank more alcohol (wine, beer, cocktails, whatnot) than my 21 years combined.

3) I have eaten more fruits and drank more water on a daily basis than my 21 years combined.

4) I have done more laundry than my 21 years combined.

5) I have inhaled more second hand smoke than my 21 years combined.

In the past few entries, i mentioned that my lappie had been christened Thomas, and Nicole's desk Freddy. Zj's comp is called Greg, and now Wayne's comp is called Donald. Today Nicole decided to print a picture of thomas the train and made me paste it on my computer. And that started a whole chain because i went and printed out Freddo the cadbury frog (and changed the 'o' to a 'y') and made her paste it on her table. and then she went and printed out Donald Duck and pasted it on Wayne's computer. now we just gotta find something for Greg.

just a quick update

yesterday, we went to lost city again, because they were celebrating jonathan's birthday..and it was really different from the first time because there were more people there yest and they were all so totally drunk. it was quite an entertaining and amusing sight. they were all just not knowing what they were doing. haha.

and today, went with zj and nicole and renee and belinda to currumbin wildlife sanctuary..saw some animals that i'd nv seen before, and saw the cute and cuddly koalas and hoppity kanagroos lol. and a kangaroo's mother's pouch is nothing like what i'd imagine to look like =x wanted to do the rope elements cos it looked really fun, but we didn't do it in the end.

haha for both events a bunch of other things happened..but i shan't elaborate further.

i love

i love my daddy and my mummy and my bestie and fenene and botley and dubble dee who were so nice to ask if i was alright and encourage me and give me e-hugs :)

and i love God who brought them all to me :)

this is one of those days..

that i feel in real need of a warm comforting hug when i get home from work.

in singapore, when school used to give me shit, going home and cuddling my kitty would give me that kinda pick-me-up..and make me feel all warm and happy again.

over here, blogging is my only catharsis. i have a deep deep yearning for my kitty to be with me now.

sometimes, i don't know why things just go so wrong...and i just spent the entire day scrutinizing what on earth was the matter with myself...that i'd always do things that negate my own efforts, and worse still negate others' efforts. that is like one of the worst feelings one could ever feel.

what makes one of the worst feelings even worse, is that it's not the first time you've done this to others, and especially to someone whom u really do not want to disappoint.

if this is gonna be the way i'll be like in future when i work, ggxx to me. the more careful i try to be, the worse things end up. but mistakes still happen when i try and go about things normally.

is this honestly what i'm worth? to just be good at mugging and getting the results and nothing more? lol perhaps i can't even be a zookeeper or a vet i'd kill my own animals. lol.

and it is not the best of ego boosters when u are with the juggernaut of all elites who picks out your mistake.

and then worse things happen..and for some reason i feel that like 80% of it is like my fault for not doing a Bostwick on it in the first place. zomg my mental and emotional state has been on serious overdrive today.

maybe He is being a strict disciplinarian.. i must say i have not been keeping my promise very well at all. perhaps that's why everything seems to be going wrong.

on a slightly brighter note, looking at the many stars in the sky while taking out the rubbish today did bring me a little comfort.

yesterday and today

yesterday, for the first time in like 3 1/2 months in australia, i saw kangaroos. haha.
in the wild, just 2 of em hopping about. it was really cool.

yesterday, went with wayne to marina quay markets, a really up-market looking place but sadly is like half closed because there's not many people stayin around there and it is quite a drive for others to get up there. but it's very nice, there are cafes where u can sit by the river and all, if i were in university here i'd definitely go there to study. it's just so quiet and a nice breezy pretty and conducive place to study.

after that we headed to sanctuary cove which is an atas place, somewhat reminded me of the yacht place in telok blangah in singapore (which is like 50 times smaller than this place), and also like rodeo drive in LA. they have a yacht dock there with lots of boats, and shops that sold ed hardy shirts for $100-$200+ and jeans going for $660. took a walk at the hyatt hotel as well and that was pretty too. we had lunch with wayne and his dad and his stepmom (yes i know seems strange we're eating lunch with his dad lol, but he's a engaging and funny guy too) at this seafood restaurant that had half price lunch (and even after half price it is like normal price at other places lol) and it was like overlooking the yacht dock with the river and all the boats. really pretty place. the tables were so tiny though, and they gave us so much water and drinks that there was like pretty much no place for anything else.

after lunch we took a little walk around the place and stuff, and ended up having coffee at this really nice coffee place which smelt really aromatic and had pretty cakes and eclairs but were small and expensive. the coffee was really good though. all in all a nice relaxing afternoon in a beautiful place, with good food and good coffee.

in any case, i think life is finally righting itself. i am now enjoying weekends more than weekdays at work. perhaps certain circumstances not within anyone's control at work has made things a little not so enjoyable for me. and yes soon in a month and a half it's time to go home. once again, like the other time in US, i enjoyed US a lot, but when it was time to go, i felt it was time to go and i looked forward to going back. even though i do miss the US now. similarly here, i enjoy my time in Aust a lot, but i think by end april/mid may..i'll feel yes it is time to go back, and i will be looking forward to being home again. just hope that i'll continue enjoying my stay here for the next 1 1/2 months. haha. hope work will be kind to me.

late by a day again --Seaworld!

okie so yesterday we went to seaworld. wanted to catch the 927 am bus and reach by about 11, but then we woke up late and missed the bus by like 3 minutes =/ and so we decided to walk down another like 800 metres to another bus stop because we knew there was another bus that would get us to the train station. when we got there.. we decided to buy ourselves a pie and a drink cause we wouldn't wanna buy lunch at seaworld it was too expensive. and by the time we got our pie and drink and looked at the bus timetable, it was like 10 am and we'd sorta missed the bus by 20 minutes. and the next bus was like 1043 am. and we were like :| okay we're not gonna walk 800 metres back again to the other bus stop cos we'll probably miss that bus and then we'd just spend the whole day walking back and forth and missing all the buses. so we just sat down on the grass and watched cars go by for 40 minutes and munched on our pie and drink.

we finally arrived at seaworld at like 12 noon. just in time to catch the pirates show. only to find out that the pyrotechnics had been cancelled because of strong winds, and the impact of the show was like gone. they had cable cars too but that was ALSO cancelled cos of strong winds. they also had like paddle boats and the monorail that brought u in a loop around seaworld. and scenic helicopter rides that of course, you have to pay a bomb for. the thing was, when we checked out the weather, it told us mostly sunny for saturday, and so we decided to go to seaworld. but like within 2 hours like 2pm it was entirely cloudy and overcast, and by 4 it was pouring.

we went round a few exhibits, touched a few stingrays and watched them during feeding time, touched a sea cucmber, that was gross, and saw my fave, the polar bear (which was just lazing around in a pile of woody brown stuff). watched the seal show, but missed the dolphin show D: and we did all the rides, they actually have like 4 rides there. the jet rider was really good and super fast and i felt a little concussed after that, and i liked the sea viper that was good and at the time we were taking the ride it was drizzly and all, at the end of the roller coaster our faces were wet haha.

and at the end of it all, we saw really good deals outside the seaworld shop. seal and dolphin plush toys for like just $5! and they're big too! haha. so zhujun bought a seal and i bought a dolphin! :)

late by a day

happenings of yesterday.. there was a HUGE ARGUMENT at work yesterday and we saw someone whom we'd never thought would ever get so angry get really riled up. that was rather shocking.

also we decided to ask uncle gary to drop us off at woolworths at oxenford (which was the place i explored on my 2nd day in australia, crossing that overhead bridge) and we bought a 2 L tub of double chocolate ice cream (ZOMG YUMS) for like 3.30 and other neccessities. the walk back was rather freaky. as safe as it looks in the day, at night, the overhead bridge area is COMPLETELY DARK with NO LIGHTS. no street lamps, no nothing. while we were walking toward the overhead bridge, we were like walking into the darkness. and the overhanging grass shrubs felt as if someone were standing in the shadows waiting to ambush us as we walked past. it was really a rather scary feeling. so we basically walked REALLY QUICKLY home.

today we went to seaworld!! a few things to blog bout, but toooooo SLEEPY to blog about it now. haha. okie buhbye more another time.

another day of randomness.

a few things happened today.

i had a bit of fun when i went to the warehouse to get a box and uncle benji told me to step on the forklift and he lifted me up while i was on the forklift lol it was quite cool and then he went up and down and up and down and told me like that i dun need to go movie world alr just play on the forklift haha.

it was like 5++ today and i had to send a parcel out and renee had gone home so just as clarence was about to leave i was like clarence can you plssss help me post the postbag? den he said he will drive the car out while i was getting it ready and when i got to his car i thought i just needed to pass it to him but instead he said hop in and i was like HUH?! and he drove me to the post box, lab coat hair net and all, i must have looked weird posting that in my hairnet.

we had to cap like smokin mango chilli sauce manually because the steam wasnt working or something and we had to screw on those caps on to the really hot bottles and it was like youch painful. i wore like those plastic thin gloves which didn't really help honestly, and i ended up with 2 big blisters on my thumb and finger which feel really sore when i write haha. thank goodnes i don't use that part of my thumb when i type but my finger does feel the sting once in a while when i type. haha.

garlic garlic everywhere

i don't really like it when we make crushed garlic in the production factory. for one it really stings ur eyes, and the smell fills the whole factory that when we get home, every single one of our clothing smells of garlic, which i attempted to cover up with deodorant but does not work, and even my bags smell of garlic. the outside and the inside. when i open them, a gust of garlicky smell comes out. eww.

ok tired sleep

i like today!

haha i just got home, and i really enjoyed myself today..cos a few things combined made me happy. :)

we started out the day wanting to go to ripley's believe it or not at surfers, we were supposed to take the 1230 bus but we couldn't make it so we ended up taking the 130 bus instead, and like when we got there we found out the next bus that would take us to surfers would be at like 151, but apparently that bus NEVER came.lousy transport system. so we waited all the way till like 2:20 pm till a bus came. by the time we got to surfers, it was like 3 plus. and really chilly out there today, like windy and cold. so we went to starbucks and got a coffee each, i still got a cold one cos the dark mocha frappe looked too good to resist. haha. so i was even colder after that.

so basically we found ripleys, asked about for a bit, and then we decided we wanted to go to the optus shop first because my phone is screwed up and not receiving messages and having all that serious error rubbish, and zj wanted a plan that suited her. and we also did some errand running like buying stuff we need for home. by the time we did all that, (most of it at the optus shop cos that took REALLY long) there was no time for ripleys so we just hung around surfers and took pictures. the waves today were really huge i was reminded of a tsunami. but of cos not as big as that. haha.

after that we had to travel down to southport so wayne could pick us up, and we went and got to australia fair shopping ctr(which was like ALL closed, even the supermarket)..so it was really boring and we thought ok..why not go opposite australia fair to see what's on the beach or something? and when we got there we were like PLAYGROUNDDDD! haha the stuff they have at the playground is really cool. and zj and i were playing and having so much fun and laughing our heads off because like all the little kids were around us and they were like 8? haha.

so wayne picked us up and we headed down to robina where the vmax theatre was, and we watched alice in wonderland in 3D! the screen was really huge, and the seats were very comfy, the only draw back was that half the time some idiot's feet were like resting on my left arm rest. i must work out those guts to tell such people 'do you mind?!' some day. and then after that we took fotos of ourselves in the 3D glasses.

zj and i were like starving after that and we wanted to get dinner, and apparently we were gonna go down to broadbeach, but in the end we ended up in a really cool place in robina. it's a CHOCOLATE BAR. where all my dreams come true. everything chocolate. omg it is like so cool. and we each had a hot chocolate and their menu has soo many different types of hot chocolate. and paco had this funny thing called an exploding shot with gummy bears around the side, and wayne bought us all chocolate fondue to share! it was really good. but perhaps that was way toooo much chocolate and it was too rich, after that all of us felt really full and zj and i were kinda queasy in the car. haha. but well i had chocolate for dinner! how cool is that.

we headed to nathan's house after that, and we were invited to go in, and there were like pictures of cars and motorcycles all over the wall and car and motorbike models etc. and like nathan had some of his own paintings too like tigers and a macaw and his border collie demon. and what made me really happy was that demon is like a really timid dog that's kinda scared of strangers, not unlike Ash my kitty, but eventually she warmed up to me, and they all said that that's the fastest she'd ever warmed up to someone. and i was so happy to hear that, cause she was like putting her paw in my hand when i told her to hi-five me, and lying down on the floor sideways which kinda shows quite a bit of trust. so i was honestly happy! :) and they took the cockatoo toby out, and even got the cranky lorikeet scooby who refused to come out and kept snapping at everyone's fingers to come out where he eventually calmed down. and i got to experience toby on my arm and my shoulder, and scooby too, who was perched so close to my face i was slightly afraid he'd nip my ear off or something. haha. and what was so cool was that demon was really protective of the birds, and like honestly protective of nearly everyone that lived in that house, and i'm like that's so sweet of her. like when scooby was in a bit of a temper/panic, demon was sort of riled up running around and all that, and when scooby finally calmed down demon calmed down too. she's honestly more like an angel than a 'demon', really. and all of them seem to love the birds and the doggie alot, like could really see it. i'd really like to live in a house like that too next time.. now i want a border collie. haha. ahh! animals make me so happy.haha. why am i not going to be a vet why why why. gahh.

whee!

i received news that my one of my product development trials on one of the hot sauces was accepted and they are going to do a production trial run next week! whee!! i hope it works well and then they'll start producing the products. cooooool.

i have lots of fate with chilli sauce. to date, i have done product development on FIVE different types of chilli sauce. amazing. perhaps i've only been doing chilli sauce becaues technically out of 10 product development requests, 5 of them are chilli, and the other 5 are non-spicy food products which have to go to zj because she can't take spicy food. =/

and my phone is going to die on me soon. the battery is screwed up and it keeps saying 'serious error. stop charging. stop using your phone and contact a sony ericsson call centre.' and my left arrow key on my toshiba keyboard is being cranky. btw nicole gave my comp a name. it is called thomas. i secretly think my lappie is a girl.

and i told wayne today, i tink when u come to pfi, u go back with 2 types of mental disorders. 1 is craziness, the other one is OCD of keeping your lab benches and weighing scales and perhaps everything else SUPER squeaky clean. while he was busy today and had no time to advise me on what to do for my hot chilli mustard, i decided that okay the lab fridge needs a cleaning out. so i went and cleaned out some raw materials some of which had gone bad and smelt gross. one of the containers of tomato paste even had round circular holes on the top as if there were creatures breathing within that air bubbles formed on the top. i do not want to know what those creatures are.

happenings at work

yesterday, i think like 5 people stuck out their tongue at me whilst at work. people here must like sticking out their tongue and making faces lol. i had a pallet board whacked over my head by marcus, stephanie whacked me with an empty plastic bottle, tracey tried to scare me thru the sample receiver window, we tried to scare wayne but zj walked into the room instead lol.

today michael was doing a funny jiggly dance while in the packaging area and i told him i think he's crazy lol and he said yeah i have to do things like these here to keep me sane. and uncle johan bought us a broccoli and cheese puff from yatala pies. so nice of him and it tasted really good too! :) and dion was cleaning the machine while i poked my head in to check the temperature, and i rolled my eyes at him. when i turned my back the next thing i knew i had a jet of water shot at my back. haha. and wayne saw me walk past the sample receiving window and when i opened the door in to the lab he scared me. and nicole was saying that freddie was sad today cos benji touched him lol!!!

crazy people all over this factory keep me sane. hahaha.

byron bay weekend--sunday

this is the continuation from ystd. haha. still very tired, probably haven't slept enough yet. i need to start slping at like 10 pm every day because i feel like i can't think at work.

Tings I forgot to add to yesterday, at the national park, wayne first found a leech on his finger, and I saw a leech for the first time, it was still skinny and crawling like a caterpillar on his hand, because it hadn’t bitten into him yet and started sucking his blood. And I was like trying so hard to take a picture and my stupid camera REFUSED to cooperate and he was like saying to me ‘if it bites into me I will kill u’ cos the last time he was bitten by a leech he took hell of a long time to stop bleeding. So I ended up only getting a few blur pictures of that stupid leech. And after that I was a little paranoid and I kept looking all over myself and guess what. I DID find a leech. On my shoe. And this one was a little fatter than the other one, probably already sucked on some poor victim for a bit already before getting pulled out. and when we got back to the car, I was still feeling paranoid, and was like poking around my sock/shoe area, and tah dah, another one crawled onto my finger. I was like freaking out, trying to shake the gross thing off but that thing just held on to me tight and refused to let go and just kept crawling and crawling. I was so worried that it would chomp on me. Wayne helped me get that one off my finger, and we went into the car. And he was like ‘okay this place is a leech free zone.’ And we were like driving for like 1 minute.. when I saw ANOTHER leech on my shoe. I don’t know why they are so attracted to me. So we pulled over and he got the leech off my shoe. And from the national park, I got hell lots of mosquito bites, which are still itching today. And sunburnt ears which turn really red at times and the red fades away at other times. Very strange.

anw..throughout the night.. i don't know why but i kept waking up..didn't slp very well. perhaps the room smelt musty or i don't know why. and wayne said the fan above us looked like it would drop on us any minute and oh that was a comforting thought.. lol. and it was only in the morning where i started going into a deep sleep, but that's when we had to wake up =/ zhujun told me that in the middle of the night i put my hand on her face lol. i don't know what i was doing.

we had a muffin and coffee at a nice idyllic cafe place that was a bar at night...and then headed down to the beach and it was really pretty, feeling the breeze and seeing the waves come in and looking at happy dogs frolicking along the sand in the shallow wave-water. and if not for wayne pointing it out to use, i would not have noticed people sunbathing nude lol. he says that that's the culture of this place, very laid back, relaxed, people just go out on the beach nude.

we headed down to the byron bay markets next, these markets only happen once a month, on the first sunday of the month. the things sold there gave me the impression of being very hippie-ish. and we watched this family band play, it was really interesting, cos there was this boy using a violin bow to play a saw, and the different notes came out by him bending it, and the other instruments were a banjo, a double bass, a ukelele (i think) and a washing board!!! lol. the washing board was the other interesting thing. and then we walked further in and we saw this aboriginal guy play a didgeridoo. i didn't know the name of that instrument until wayne told us. it looked really hard on the lungs to play. we managed to find a sugar cane juice stall there too! made the same way as in singapore, with those juicing machines that just flattens the sugar cane. in the whole of QLD/NSW, this area is probably the only area u can find sugar cane juice cause there's lots of sugar cane fields/plantations close by, and we drove past that the day before (i can't remb if i mentioned in the prev entry lol.)

after that, we went down to the lighthouse. it was a trek up from the bottom, with many staircases. but the view along the way was well worth the trek up, looking at the waves crashing into huge rocks, and people surfing, and the coast far out. we also passed the eastern most point of australia, and we saw many schools of dolphins out riding the wave too! and sea turtles coming up to the water for air, which seemed like round specks from so high up. it was really cool, in california, i saw a school of seals, and here i managed to see schools of dolphins.

our last stop at byron was a small little bakery, where i bought an eclair which had such yummy chocolate cream inside and was like cold and nice which complemented with the hot day. all of us were burnt by the end of the day.. i think i got the worst burns. i didn't even know my ears were like really burnt and red until 3 people discovered it today. my forehead and scalp were burnt too. that's the result of being slipshod with sunblock. haha.

we left about 4 nsw time i think ..and then i thought we would be going home already, but wayne told us he'd be taking some detours along the way, instead of taking the usual highway. and like there were a few points where he just decided to anyhow drive, like just take random turns that he'd never turned before and drive on unknown roads and technically get lost. haha. but well roads always lead somewhere, and it was quite interesting, not knowing what to expect, knowing that the one driving the car doesn't where it leads to either...went past coolangatta, carbarita beach, currumbin beach, kingscliff, and ended up at burleigh heads.

we bought fresh and piping hot fish and chips from a fish and chips shop there, and settled down on a grass patch that was facing the sea and could see surfer's paradise on the coast in the distance. so as we sat there eating our fish and chips.. we watched the sun set and the sky grow dark over the coast, and the lights slowly going on in the skyscraper buildings at surfers. the setting of our dinner together with my really yummy and fresh fish and chips, made it one of the best dinners i'd ever had. the only comic relief was that the moment we sat down, all the seagulls started swooping down and cornering us. they were staring at us so intently you could almost hear them go 'mine mine mine mine mine' haha.

somehow, u associate certain songs with certain times. in california, the song i'd link to UCLA would be 'bruises'. the song i'd link to pacific highway and the beautiful scenery i saw when aunt linda brought us out, as i mentioned in my live journal, would be 'fernando'. this weekend too, left me with a song i'd always associate with australia if i ever listened to it in the future:

Forever Young
Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while
Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst
Are you gonna drop the bomb or not

Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power, but we never say never
Sitting in a sand-pit, life is a short trip
The music's for the sad men.

Can you imagine when this race is run
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders, we're getting in tune
The music's played by the mad men

Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever, forever?
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever, forever?

Some are like water, some are like the heat
Some are a melody, some are the beat
Sooner or later they all be gone
Why don't they stay young?

It's so hard to get old without a cause
I don't want to perish like a fading horse
Youth is like diamonds in the sun
and diamonds are forever

So many adventures couldn't happen today
So many songs that we forgot to play
So many dreams swinging out of the blue
We let them come true

Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever, forever?
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever, forever?

Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever, forever?

Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever, forever?

waterfalls and byron bay--saturday.

haha after a few weeks of rain and sad weekends just doing basically nothing much but shopping, we finally went on a road trip out of queensland to new south wales!

for pictures, refer facebook, too lazy to post here cos it's too slow doing one by one. haha.

okay saturday morning started out bleak, cos we were originally going to climb mount warning, but it was raining still at 8 am. so we decided to set off later at about 10+. the rain eased up at 10+ but wayne decided to bring us to springbrook national park to see purling brook falls which is one of their famous waterfalls. and we were driving up the national park and there were like clouds amongst the road making the place really foggy and stuff. but it looked really nice, reminded me of yosemite national park + genting + cameron highlands combined. so we got up to purling brooks, and took a 1 1/2 hour hike thru the forest, with those foresty muddy trials and all that, not unlike the trails we have in macritchie/bukit timah, but because it was still a little drizzly and all that, the air was really cool to the point of being cold haha. and it was really beautiful, the waterfall, cos it was raining for the past few days and like lots of water was coming down the waterfall. we also walked around the back of the waterfall to see how it was like and it was really cool. and we were all drenched! haha. and i drank the water trickling down from a rock and it was really cool and refreshing :)

after that we had lunch at this cosy little place, wayne had this irish guinness lamb stew with 2 big pieces of bread and it was nice, and zj and i had spaghetti chicken pesto with almonds and mozzerella cheese. and we shared a bowl of pumpkin soup, and all 3 of us had our own hot chocolates with marshmallows which was REALLY yummy. while we were waiting for our food, we actually played chinese checkers lol which was really like a random thing. we ashame ourselves; the non-chinese actually came in first in the chinese checkers. lol i was second :D

we went on another little trek which took about 45 minutes, and went to look at the twin falls, that trek was really interesting with many different types of 'obstacles' to pass, and things u encounter along the trail, like big rocks and all that. the twin falls was really pretty too, with more water than usual according to wayne..and yes once again we got drenched (and my phone in my pocket must have gotten as well after that it had a charging error =x) the washrooms there had 2 cubicles, and both cubicles had a spider each in it. one of it had a big spider that was black and looked dangerous, and another one had a brown spider that was like also big, but brown and hairy. we had to pick one cubicle to use the toilet, so we picked the brown one to share the toilet with cos it didn't look as dangerous as the black spider lol.

and then we started heading toward byron bay. passed lots of country road on the way..vast fields with cows and horses and mountains vaguely in the distance. it was really beautiful. i realized that i was a true blue naturalist because looking at all these sights.. really made me feel so happy. it is rather surreal and indescribable, kinda like how i felt that time in the US while aunt linda was driving us along the pacific highway there. a really blessed feeling, just felt so lucky to be seeing all these wonderful sights that God had created. we passed this place called mooball, which is a really cute name, and they had the lamp posts painted in cow colours! like white with black patches. haha. and we sang the 'i am cow' song to all the cows we saw along the way lol

we got to byron bay after sundown, and found our bunking location for the night, they had a few kitties too, one called socks as it was black with white socks, and it was much more friendly than the one at brisbane lol. we could see the turning beam of the light from the byron lighthouse in the distance. we went and took a walk around the area, went and looked at the beach a bit, experienced the nice sea breeze, looked at the lighthouse beam rotating..and then we chanced upon john boland's shop ozymex, we produce all his sauces for him, byron bay chilli co sauces..and he treated all of us each to a burrito!! :) not before we had habanero sauce and coconut chilli sauce put all over it lol. very very spicy. after that we did more wandering, and went to this pub called rails pub. and i saw my fave strongbow on tap so i drank that :) music was really loud there, talking to each other was like a shouting match. lol.

and that kinda concluded the night, we went back, showered, and here i experienced a first. i used the public shower area in the ladies toilet, cos zj needed to share my shampoo and soap and out of the 2 enclosed cubicles, one of it couldn't lock. haha. it was kinda weird.. but oh well. it's a first. after that we called it a day, talking to each other in the dark till it was kinda late and we decided to really go and slp. lol.

ok i am REALLY VERY SLEEPY. i cannot blog about sunday properly alr so i shall do that tmr. haha.

claypot bak kut teh yummmmm

it was raining the whole day..but when we got home, we had piping hot claypot bak kut teh bubbling on a gas stove on the dining table awaiting us.

the soup was really nice and herby and just slightly peppery, with dao pok and mushrooms and pork etc and i ate the meat with dark soy sauce and chilli, and they had like chinese tea in the chinese style teacups and all. aunt suvy also roasted the 烧肉 until it was totally crispy and tasted really really nice. like for me, i never ever eat 烧肉 because i'm afraid of the fatty taste and texture, but this was like baked/roasted to a crisp that it tasted so good i kept on eating it. it was a fantastic dinner to eat on a cold rainy day!
