melb 5 may --great ocean road

i dun really think there's much to say for this ...cos there are TOO MANY photos that tell all. haha. just that after lunch i remember waiting really really really long for this couple on the bus cos they were just missing. and we were just watching 2 gals zi pai with their pro dslr and it was rather amusing.

we asked the guide to drop us at lygon for dinner..and dinner was yummy we ate at 2 italian restaurants..wanted to go to freddo's for ice cream after that but it was closed D:

melb 6 may --queen vic market, and meeting eve and liling

alrights so we walked around queen vic market and bought a bunch of bananas cause a bunch of us were feeling constipated haha..and we had breakfast der too...tho we heard there'd be a lot to eat at qvm there wasn't much actually.. so after that we took the bus wanting to go to flinders to have lord of the flies..but we ended up stopping at some place where we saw a v pretty church to take fotos..and the park nearby was a very pretty place too..and we were taking loads of fotos when eve called..her lessons were over and she told us to head down to little bourke..and we met her at the chinatown area where we were walking about..it was great catching up with her when i hadn't seen her in soooo long :) and the place she recommend had really good food too!

DFO was nothing much..we only had 2 hours before closing and so i was like speed walking and honestly i was lazy to change cause i had my jacket on and all..and they didn't even have any havaianas shop. it was only twds the end when i met irene that i actually bought sth..

dinner was at lygon and the first place we went (lest it closed) was FREDDOs!! the ice cream was fantastic. and we met li ling there too..we had dinner together at papa ginos and headed down to koko black after that..that's when liling and the rest tortured me with scandals which turns out weren't scandals after all hohoho. but it was really good catching up with li ling too when we've been out of each other's lives for so so long. koko black was really fun actually even tho yes i was tortured. and we were so full 6 of us couldn't finish 2 cups of chocolate beverages haha.

melbourne 3 & 4 may

3rd may night

we got to our hostel alright, but we had problems trying to get to the room cos the booking was too complicated, booked under my name but 2 people came in the morning and 3 at night..so in the end irene came down and helped us out. i gave irene a hug when i saw her and hl one when i saw her up in her room too!! it was really nice seeing the 2 of them after 4 mths too..and how we'd tell each other in our mails that we'd have to give each other big hugs when we see each other :) the beds in nomads were SUPER CREAKY.haha.

4th may philip island

so many photos that there isn't that much to say! just that we went to the trouble to buy subway in the morning for our lunch..and we had bunches of subway with us on our seats when we found out we had complimentary lunch vouchers! however that came about, i have absolutely no idea. so subway became our dinner instead lol. but the meatball sub i had was good. seal rocks were super cold. there was one point we went all the way down the boardwalk and we were wondering why we were doing it in the biting cold where the wind was chilly and cutting and rain was hitting our faces at an angle and we were getting all wet, faces, hair and all. all the way to the end to find out that the path leading to the lookout was blocked up or something. the penguin parade was really cool it was like 6 and really dark and drizzly..and of cos it was COLD..and we were just waiting out there for the penguins to arrive and suddenly there was like a collective exclamation of wonder and people were pointing and u just saw a whole black mass come out of the water...and the penguins just started walking up toward the pathway! like lots and lots of them..and they'd like start and stop and start and stop like there was some sort of traffic system going on. haha.

1may whitewater rafting day

took the train to airport..aunt suvy sent us there..after that she even gave us a call to check if we'd got on the train alright..so motherly. we were really touched by that gesture. got msges from lorna, tracey and wayne telling us to have fun on our travels..tracey gave me a call too..to talk about the previous night. so basically emo-ed my way there. but i cheered up a bit when i saw weibin. it was good to see a good friend after 4 months. kinda like a warm familiarity.

was really tired, cause i only had about like 2 hrs of slp the previous night. but headed straight for white water rafting, that kinda drained me totally and i was exhausted and zombified by the time night came. had a good chat at the steak place, which was cheap but reallyyyyy dodgy. the foaming fury guy was called brett i think with the nickname 小胖胖 and he seemed to take a real interest to zj. he gave us good recommendations for korean food tho. he also mentioned something funny..we always say australians are laid-back, but in actual fact that's just a euphemism for lazy. haha.

2nd may green island.

snorkelling was a flop honestly.. cause of the water logged masks..and we should've gotten flotation vests..well i'm glad for my moreton snorkelling experience at least. i was happy that the birds crapped on weibin. there was pretty much nothing to do so thankfully we had that glass bottomed boat thingy too. i loved the chocolate mint biscuits we ate even tho it was all melted and i was having a sore throat..night markets that night was alright..nothing much to see cause it was rather small.. but the ice cream was the best really. ice cream always rocks, especially in large quantities. lol.

3rd may random walking around, botanic gardens.

okay i think in my opinion this was the worst day for me.. cause we thought there'd be the beach to go to.. i mean after all being cairns yeah? but the coast was just kinda like a swampy boggy area with crabs and potential crocodiles so u could only walk on the board walk..and i wore my broken sandal just cause i thought we'd be going near sand..and we ended up walking really far from the lagoon area to the botanic gardens area and my foot in the broken sandal was dying. morning we had macs breakfast, hung around and used the net, and watched a parade go by.. i think it was labour day that day..so pretty much a lot of things were closed? the botanic gardens was kinda bad also cos by then i was so sick of walking with the broken sandal i didn't enjoy it much and it was kinda stuffy too cause it was gonna rain and after that i rained while we were in the botanic gardens and we didn't really have a good place to shelter ourselves.. and i got bitten by mozzies as usual haha. lunch was good korean food...and then it was back to the hostel to take the shuttle to the airport..and we hung around at the airport till it was time to leave..and the stewardess made me stuff my hand carry luggage into the small measuring thing and i was trying so hard to do it ...and it was embarrassing cos a whole line of people waiting to board was watching me do it. and den she asked some other caucasian guy to do it also and his one was obviously unstuffable because he had the trolley bar thing which was already longer than the compartment itself and she was like it's alright just bring it on when she made me go to SO MUCH EFFORT to stuff mine in. i was really rather pissed after that. grr RACISM or SEXISM or whatever.

strike bowling bar

haha i realize the trying to post every single memory + all the photos thing is taking a SUPER long time. it's getting kinda draggy and i feel like just writing summaries now. well i kinda knew this was gonna happen..that this would be an inevitable progression...which was why i was being so mopey and trying to hold on to things at the start.

yeah anw so the last night..we had some sort of a company outing to strike bowling bar organized by lorna. it was a underground pub cum bar..the people who went were (hopefully i don't forget anyone) lorna, maddie, belinda, nicole, david, tom, dion, michael, wayne, uncle gary, uncle benny, uncle johan, uncle kim, auntie eileen, and us 2 of cos. i think i was already rather drained from the day so i popped a panadol before i went. and then i drank alcohol (i don't think the 2 were supposed to mix but anyway nothing happened to me lol)

nothing really very significant happened except for the fact that somehow i really SUCK at bowling. lol. at the end of the night everyone had a strike except me. haha..well at least i managed to spare. and people started getting wilder and wilder toward the end of the night..alot of them got drunk (as usual) and disappeared for long periods so that in some lanes, games couldn't go on, and when they came back there were all sorts of wild bowling antics they carried out. aunty eileen got really drunk also and she started emo-talking to me and i was like hmmmmmmmmm okay. at one point she was just bent over holding a wine glass in her hand and it just slipped out and fell to pieces on the floor and i think zj and i were pretty shocked cos we'd never seen her like that before.

it was like 1am before the games finally finished because of the drunk people haha. and zj and i were SO TIRED that she fell right asleep in the car and well for some reason uncle gary uncle kim and uncle benny were all being really chatty so i was like trying to reply them in a half-zombiefied mood. when uncle gary finally sent uncle kim and uncle benny back i just slumped into unconsciousness till we finally got home. while zj went to bed pretty quickly (after all, we had to get up at like 5-6am the next morning to head to cairns)..i was up trying to finish the last touches to the muvee and THEN burn it into a CD and then attempt to write the letter while the CD was burning. but by 4.20am i was too dead to carry on...after the long energy sapping previous day..and i just succumbed to sleep.

Baby Francesca Grace Hartle

ok i just realized i didn't blog about this entry, this was actually supposed to be between O'reillys (11 apr), and ice skating (23 apr). haha. we went to visit jen's baby on 18 apr, sunday..cause lorna said she was gonna be visiting her. we'd already missed jen's baby shower on 28 march cause of certain unforseen reasons and we ended up shopping at harbour town that day which was kinda boring..and being at a baby shower for the first time would have been cool.

so anyway before visiting jen zj and i went off to westfield so we could get something for the baby. we ended up buying this nice soft comfy yellow baby throw for the baby from target haha. and we went to coomera and waited for lorna to pick us up. her mum, maddie was there too with her in the car..so the 4 of us drove back to yatala, near norfolk, where jen stayed. felt like we were going back to work haha.

teina was already there when we arrived, and baby was sleeping!!! we all went into the room, and baby frankie was sleeping really soundly in the cot. haha. she had really long slender fingers..so we guessed she probably takes after her dad. haha. she is probably gonna like become a real beauty next time when she grows up, being a mix of filipino and english or something like that. we woke baby up, and they took turns carrying her, i didn't dare cos she looked too fragile and i'd probably be murdered by her protective daddy if i hurt her lol. he was already kinda unhappy we were waking his baby up haha.

yep so that was it. we stayed for a while, ate cake, talked about baby and work and other stuff, and said bye to baby before we left. :)

badminton at pcyc

yep this was wed night, 28 april. the 3rd night in a row we were heading out after work.. wayne'd been travelling the road to gary's place so often that he'd go 'hmmm this route looks really familiar!' i think i did blog about what happened on the way home from work while wayne drove us back already.

when we arrived at darrell's place taleisha was there and she gave us each a hug again. i gave her one of the toblerones that was actually meant for nathan. and it was darrell's birthday that day. so i was like standing outside the car with darrell near me and i went 'hey darrell!' and he turned and looked and i stretched out my hand and went 'happy birthday!' then zj wished him happy birthday too. den wayne was like looking very grudging on the other side and like grousing.. 'now you guys have wished him i have to wish him too...' like we spoilt the market lol. and he walked right round the car to the side darrell was on and gave him a big bear hug. to see the 2 big guys hugging each other and like hopping a little on the spot was really really comical but at the same time very heartwarming.

yep so we went off to play badminton at pcyc. i think this was a new badminton club that was set up, so there were wayyy fewer people compared to thurs at wayne's club. there were 5 of us, so we kinda took turns at doubles on one court. and we hogged the court to ourselves for the entire night haha. i was actually feeling quite under the weather and even a bit feverish before badminton and i nearly wanted to sit out the entire night. but i'm glad i played in the end because i felt much better after that.

after badminton we headed to maccas..cos wayne hadn't had dinner. so i had my usual, 50c ice cream cone :) after ice skating, i was VERY WARY of sitting with either nathan or wayne when they had ice cream cones in their hands. but for some reason i don't know WHY i ended up sitting in between the 2 of them again. i actually think i was forced into sitting there i dun tink i had a choice. so yes, it wasn't before long, that i had ice cream on my face. very comforting eh. nathan started it, and then i just passed on the line..and because wayne didn't have ice cream i just got the side of his face with ice cream. for some reason, i always always get his ear, but that's probably cause he tries to turn away to avoid ice cream on his face so his ear gets it instead. and then darrell started trying to mess with my ice cream too and i'm like oh no now there's THREE OF YOU. then nathan went and like smeared my face with like alot of ice cream and there was nothing i could do then in the end when he was done my whole face was covered in white soft serve vanilla ice cream and everyone had a good laugh about it and i was like -.-||| and i had to go to the washroom and wash my face.

and then nathan really really wanted to go to the playground to play..i didn't really feel like going.. but he was like really really REALLY keen so in the end i relented. we went in and there was this round thing that the rest of them were wondering whether we were in it. the next moment it started shaking really violently like the round thing was gonna break off and drop and they were like oh yes that's right nathan's DEFINITELY in there. and then we just crawled through all the tubes and tunnels and these were things i absolutely loved as a kid but now i can't exactly appreciate it possibly cause i'm old and i'm big now lol. we went down 2 of the huge twisty slides and nathan kept wanting to go on it again and again. there was once he took a macs brown tray and went down the slide using it as a toboggan kinda thing. while i watched him, it was really rather hilarious. when he started coming down the slide, it looked like the slide was choking, shaking violently from side to side with sounds like BOM BOOM BAM all the way down. i had a good laugh from that.

we stayed at maccas for really long because after that we were trying to take self-timed photos..and we had to take ALOT of shots before they were finally successful. after that we were invited back to darrell's place..where nathan was given the strict 'go to bed' order right after his shower. we gave him his card and chocolate and he gave each of us a hug, but he and i kinda had a mini collision while attempting to hug the other. haha. and while waiting for nathan to come out that's where wayne found out another of my quirks that i really really disliked. (the first, the finger to the forehead thing they found out at movie world while waiting for the log ride) for some reason nobody was really irritated by those things when i thought they'd be!!! demon was being shy again but soon warmed up to us...and just sat near us enjoying our pats. she was a really smart dog..only doing the high-ten trick only when we had treats in our hands. other than that she refused to do it. and darrell was getting really really playful with demon at one point, but when he said 'friends' then demon would immediately change to an obedient mode. like a 360 degree change. it was really amazing.

dinner at country town

honestly i don't remember the name of the place, but i remember it had the word 'country' in it, and the word 'town' in it. so 'country town' it is! lol.

dinner at country town was on 27 april.. a tuesday night. i remembered that the whole day that day i was feeling really bloated..like i had a really bad bout of indigestion. zj had the runs, and wayne was feeling like me as well. i came to conclude that i tink lamb does not go very well with my digestive system, because on the plane trip home i had lamb for my meal (which was nice too btw) but after that i felt the same bloatedness that i couldn't eat the second small meal provided near the end of the flight.

we were the last to get there, and i was wearing a dress i bought recently cos zj said 'it's always better to be overdressed than underdressed'. when i got there i realized like people who went there were all dressed nicely but i mean wayne and the rest weren't over-elaborately dressed also lah. so i met bryce after a very long time, but didn't get to talk to him cause he was at the other end of the table. and properly met shelle and taleisha for the first time too.

food-wise, dinner was alright. i had risotto with asparagus and prawn i think, that wasn't too bad, i managed to finish it given my indigestion, though i was struggling at the end. zj had some sorta seafood pasta..which apparently was kinda bland and not too good. i heard the steak was good though, a few of them had it..wayne too was struggling tho he had a lot more food than me and he was like the last to finish cos he was going soooooooo slowly at the end.

the best part of the night i guess was taleisha warming up to us. at first she didn't wanna say hi or give any of us a hug, including wayne. and she was so adorable. in the end she gave wayne a hug cos he told her no hugs no chippies. i guess he always brings chips for her when he visits. haha. and she was like saying at the top of her voice 'WE NEED WAYNE, BUT WE DON'T NEED NATHAN!!!" poor big brother was hurt by that comment hahaa. and taleisha was very adverse to taking photos too i tried taking photos of her and she was like 'DON'T TAKE PHOTOS!!!' but in the end darrell took her on his lap and started saying some stuff to her..he must be a very good dad cos she obediently listened to him after that and came and gave both me and zhujun a hug!!!! it was really sweet. :) and she was alright with photos after that.

after the hug she started warming up to us..we started playing with the fake tea-candle lights on the table..and trying to throw the mint chocolate in..and i think taleisha had a lot of fun with that. some of them had dessert, and tho the dessert sounded really good to me i know i would like puke if i ate anymore. so zj ate the dessert..i think it was a lemon tart. and i helped her polish off her ice cream. haha. not before long it was time to go.. and i didn't manage to get a picture with them. and i think darrell was talking to wayne about arrangements for the next day so there was like time in between where i kept waving goodbye to taleisha in all sorts of weird ways and she was having fun saying bye to me too. :)

gah she's gonna forget me soon :( boo

tamborine mountain

ok this time i actually went back and checked that i hadn't blogged about this yet before i started blogging about this.

yep so it was ANZAC day, and uncle gary and aunt suvy told us the day before that they'd be bringing us up to mt tamborine. when i woke up that morning i was like whoaa..the kitchen was like all busy with aunt suvy making preparations to bring food and all that up. like fried rice and croissants and etc etc etc. i was honestly a bit surprised, i thought that we'd be eating up there.

anw we left about noon time i think..and sent linnett to her horse haha. and then went up...went to a few lookouts, took pictures, saw people hang-gliding, that was cool, but we didn't see anyone take off from the steep hill where people usually take off from haha. hang-gliding looks tiring actually i wonder what happens if those people's arms get tired and they are in mid air and can't do anything about it.

after that we just settled down at this picnicky spot where other people were having lunch too..we saw lots of old couples with like mini-grills and hot plates and all that and we were saying that the elderly in australia really know how to enjoy their retirement, unlike asians in singapore, who don't really know what to do with life after retirement. but i can understand..there're no nice places to go, no nice scenery, no mountains, no nice beaches and national parks to go in singapore, how to enjoy?? haha. that made me determined that someday, when i grow up (lol i've already grown up but whatever) i'll be spending the later part of my life in some other country other than singapore. when i was in US, i told myself i'm gonna migrate to US next time. then i went to aust..and it became 'i'm gonna migrate to Aust next time.' i wonder if it's gonna change to 'i'm gonna migrate to europe next time' soon. haha hope it materializes one day. so we ate our croissants and fried rice and the fried rice was really hot and good to eat in the cool weather and i kept feeling like i wanted more. and we had hot coffee to drink and apples after lunch too. it was a yummy lunch.

we headed to the cedar creek wineries after that and had a look around. the inside was really pretty.. there was this cafe where people were seated under the maple trees having their meals with wine. these people are the real people that enjoy life haha. there was a pond with a fountain too. and we picked up maple leaves to press dry. mine's still nicely between the pages of my bible, i just checked. haha.

after that we went for a walk around all the rows of shops on tamborine mountain...didn't buy anything but it was interesting to just look around..aunt suvy treated us to ice cream :D i got creme brulee flavour and that was absolutely yummm and zj's macadamia nut one was good too. and so ended the day at mt tamborine...the mountain that we actually thought of walking to on the 3rd day we got to australia lol till we discovered on googlemaps that it would take us 6 hours just to get to the foot of it. we know better now.

Strawberry farm, cheesecake, dinner

lol i typed a whole blog entry, and then realized i'd already blogged about this before. but anyway in addition,

that night, zj and i treated uncle gary, uncle johan, aunty suvy and aunty eileen for dinner. we were at this chinese restuarant on broadbeach..and they ordered stuff like peking duck, and there was this dish where they took the duck meat and fried it and put it in cabbage and that was the best duck dish i've ever tasted in my life it was absolutely awesome. and there was fish (forgot what kind already), hot plate scallop, broccoli and mushroom, and alot of other yummy dishes that i honestly cannot remember because my memory has failed me. haha. tho it cost us quite a bit, i loved the food, and it was to thank these 4 people who have been such wonderful pseudo-parents to us over the 4 months.

O'Reillys!

it was gonna be a nice peaceful sunday (11 apr) at home, and i was about to go to westfield to shop on my own for stuff like my formal attire just in case i had to attend an interview for U21, and i also had to collect the photos that zj had developed the previous day. and like probably about 20 mins before i was gonna leave i received a call from wayne. and he was like oh hey do you guys wanna go to o'reillys today? and i'm like "WHY SO LAST MINUTE AH?!!?!?!" and he was at nathan's place and they just had that brainwave to go up there apparently. so i had to like ask zj if she wanted to go and all that.. and for some reason somehow she mistook it for a haunted house lol. basically zj was taking a long time to deliberate whether or not she wanted to go..and i was like on the phone with them and then like i looked at the clock and i'm like GAHHHHH I'M GONNA MISS THE BUS!!!! and if i missed the bus i'd have to wait like maybe one or 2 hours for the next bus. so anyway i left the house and continued discussing on the phone with zj..and she finally said that we could go ..so i called wayne back and he'd pick zj from the house and me from westfield.

i collected my fotos..and then was at target shopping...and then i just happened to be on the phone with wayne about the arrangements for later..and i didn't notice what i was doing..so i just left the photos on some shelf, and then when i put down the phone, i forgot that i left the photos on the shelf.. and then i was like OH CRAP and the problem was that i couldn't remember which shelf i left it on, and i had to go scour many rows of shelves, including the kids toys section to find it..i think all the parents were probably looking at me and thinking what on earth this weird girl was doing looking so intently at the kids shelves. i bumped into tracey too while shopping at target.

okay so anyway i got picked up at about 12..and we went up o'reillys past this mountain called mt nathan which gave nathan a big head cause it was as if he owned everything..and everything that was on that nathan was named nathan something or mt nathan something. and whenever we passed by any old shack that looked just about to fall apart we'd go..hey there's your new house wayne!!! haha.

so after many winding winding roads that was just about to make zj sick, wayne decided to let us down at a spot to like rest. and was this alpaca farm..which had alpacas and i'd never seen alpacas before. they look like llamas but i think their face is rather comical haha. and we went into the shop and felt all the alpaca wool products which were all very nice and wooly and felt like they'd all be nice and comfortable. haha. they had wonderful views from there as well.

when we finally got to o'reillys we had lunch..the choice of food there was rather paltry and quite expensive so all 4 of us ended up eating lasagne...nathan got his chocolate banana milkshake which looked interesting and quite pretty. at first the sound of it sounded weird and like ewww. but it actually tasted quite nice. but we weren't about to let nathan know that cause he said we could kill him if we didn't like it. lols. we sat on some sort of veranda of the cafe, where you could see the rolling hills below you, and it was rather cooling cos we were on the top of a mountain. and we saw like electrical lines that lead all the way down from the cafe.. and wayne was like oh that's gotta be one of the longest electrical lines ever. haha.

we went on a short little walk after lunch where they had a suspended bridge. before reaching the bridge we got to this tree, which was a dead tree that had been killed by a strangler fig. so the inside of the tree was completely hollow, with only the outer shell of the tree which was all vine-y and brambly. all of us had to wait our turn, when it was my turn i tried climbing up the inside of the tree. wayne was last and he climbed the highest. and the 3 of us were outside saying..okok when he's up there we're all gonna bail on him lol. and we did. :)

we reached the end of one section of the bridge and then there was this ladder up to 2 platforms, one higher than the other. only 5 people could be up there at one time, so we had to wait in line for our turn to go up. when we went up, it was a bit scary climbing up the ladder (and even scarier climbing down lol). but the view was pretty :)

after that we went on the bridge with nathan and wayne trying to make the bridge as shaky as possible. wayne was really funny cos he was skipping along the bridge like a little girl. lol. we tried to take fotos because at that time we felt it was probably one of our last chances to get a proper foto with them that we could print out for them as gifts, and wayne had to give a spastic non-smiling face when both zj and i looked nice in it pffft.

after that we headed back to the wild bird feeding area wanting to feed the birds but we discovered that feeding time was over. so nathan went and just grabbed a rock and held it out as if it were food. and a bird actually flew to him!! and we were like wowww this works and we all started scouring for random crap on the ground to hold in our hands. haha. eventually we all had birds on our arms at some point or another. it would have been cooler though if it were real food, maybe more birds would have come.

after that we headed down to the wishing tree track, a small little trail that not many people know of..we saw a few wallabies on the way too. this track was rather cool, it had a really really shaky bridge which nathan rocked SO HARD that i thought it was going to break. when i entered the trail, nathan gave me a scare and i got a fright and actually for once i did give a little squeal. nathan took great pride in that. after that wayne went missing and we knew he was hiding somewhere but we didn't know where so when he jumped out at us from behind a huge rock zj got the fright of her life and screamed lol. there was also this natural swing made from a vine that everyone had fun swinging on except me. haha. when i got up for some reason i can't grip properly or stand properly or balance properly, whenever wayne and nathan tried swinging me forward i wouldn't be able to balance on it and i'd fall down. i twisted my ankle in the process and that night it hurt so badly i had to RICE it. haha. on the way back nathan kept trying to block my way with vines and i was like really tired and panting and all that and wayne was like you look really really tired and i'm like yeah this is wayyyy worse compared to springbrook because NATHAN IS HERE! in the end nathan offered to piggyback me a distance..so that he can use his energy. ahah. and he piggybacked zhujun too! piggybacking both of us and running took up quite some bit of his energy. haha...

at the end of the day for some reason nathan and i were playing with water near wayne's car trying to splash each other with water and i wet wayne's whole windscreen with water lol. yes a waste of nice good drinking water. we had noodlebox for the first time in aust that night for dinner... and went to this place in pacfic pines to have it, while we played the A-Z game for animals and countries and nathan kept on naming weird dinosaurs we'd never heard before. after dinner, i played on the flying fox, and nathan dragged me sooooo far that i was nearing the end at like TOP SPEED and i was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and the next moment i hit the end and i flew up like some rag doll together with the flying fox seat (thank God i was sitting on it and not standing, i'd have flown a few metres away if i were standing) and both zj and wayne who were watching got a huge shock and wayne scolded nathan after that. haha. i told them after that that i honestly felt like i was on a roller coaster right then..don't even needa go to theme parks. haha.

yep so ended the long day at o'reillys haha. such a longggg entry i'm sleepy writing it too lol

Easter Weekend, part 3--Moreton island Sunday

okie finally i've got time to blog about this and i'm already back in singapore. sighh. this has already been more than a month ago.

Anyway, that morning we woke up and breakfast wasn’t ready yet… and we’d discovered that all 3 of us, halfway through the night at some point of time or another, we’d slipped down halfway on the mattress. In the middle of the night I woke up and I was wondering why on earth I was feeling so squashed up and I realized that on either side of me were people’s legs and I was like crap and I moved back up to where the heads were. Must be the sand causing all of us to slide downward. Lol.

so we just walked down to the beach to catch the morning breeze and dip our feet in the water and all..the water was really clear that morning and we caught ourselves taking shadow shots of ourselves in the water because the water was so so clear. anyway we walked back up for breakfast and breakfast was pancakes and hot cross buns and cheesecakes!! they told us oh u guys have to try pancakes on cheesecake that's our recommendation and so i did and it was really quite nice cos the cheesecake was like slightly melty and it could sorta be used as a spread. cos it was easter they also had a bowl of easter eggs and i took one :)

right after breakfast we headed down to the blue lagoon which was a freshwater lagoon. on the way we drove by this huge huge dead jellyfish marooned on shore and the guide stopped the car and we all went out to look. it was squishy and definitely dead because the guide said it wasn't pulsating anymore. someone tried to carry it and it was really heavy. and there were many other mini jellyfishes on the shore as well.

at the blue lagoon, the water was chilly and i was like slowly wading down and all that when the guide came and splashed me suddenly and i was like ok that kinda speeds things up haha. it was really fun being in that lagoon cos the water for a change wasn't salty. lorna and i were both wet and zj's hair was dry so we tried to get her wet but in the end zj capsized me!!!

after that we headed up to the lighthouse, which had a wonderful view of the entire island and the sea and it was absolutely breathtaking. the guide told us that during whale season, whales could be seen passing by and honestly what i would give to see that sight!! there were picnic tables too at the lighthouse area and i was thinking to myself..it'd be beautiful having a picnic lunch there with a nice breeze and fantastic scenery.

straight after the vans parked themselves just at a spot on the beach and the guides prepared lunch for us while we just did our own thing. the three of us didn't really wanna get wet then..so we just lazed around on the beach and started building sand sculptures. we made a turtle and after that we made a huge bugs bunny!! and we made it wear zhujun's sunnies and slippers and took a foto haha it was funny.

after lunch they took us walking to this other scenic spot called honeymoon bay. it was a rather nice place as well..but what i remembered was that we were playing fuzzy wuzzy with lorna..zj caught on to it quite quickly and lorna was left guessing. when she finally got it she wouldn't stop and she kept on going about what fuzzy wuzzy likes or didn't like. haha.

right after that it was relatively close to the time that we had to go back..and they left us on the beach near our campsite and we had a last dip in the seawater..and lorna and i went and made a big sandball.. it was really cool. it's a ball that you make with both wet and dry sand so lorna and i were running back and forth and back and forth the beach making the sandball :)

pretty much the rest of it was rather uneventful till we got back up the catamaran. lorna and i had a pie to share, with a smiley face on it..and we were sitting at the back of the boat facing the setting sun. and zj was really adverse to the sun and she sat there with her jacket covering her face and we were like "o: you are a vampire!! u can't face the sun!!" we went about the ship.. took a few more fotos.. and then lorna and i were talking about songs from childhood and we started singing songs from barney and friends!! she could remember how to sing all those songs and when she sang it i was like yah yah yah yah yah!! i know that song!!! haha and then i'd sing along with her too. so we were totally being little kids there. and after that when the sky got dark and we had absolutely nothing to do we went in to the kids section and sat down on the floor flipping thru kiddy books lol. the adults must have been thinking what on earth are these overgrown kids doing here lol.

when we got off the boat..the guide sent everyone back..and lorna said she was gonna go back home too..and not join us for the night. there was this girl on our van that recommended us to eat at a tibetan place on fortitude valley, and we found out it was actually really near our hostel!! so we headed there for dinner that night, and i forgot my camera and decided to walk back to the hostel a few blocks down and grab it again haha. tibetan food is really interesting, it is like a mix between china and india. the chicken we had was really nice it was something like tandoori chicken..and we had soup and tibetan bread as well.

so ended our sunday of our easter weekend. :)

back in singapore

amelia is back in singapore.

but only the shell of amelia is back in singapore.

her heart is still in australia.

it'll take some time for it to return...

she wonders how long.
