yesterday and today
yesterday, for the first time in like 3 1/2 months in australia, i saw kangaroos. haha.
in the wild, just 2 of em hopping about. it was really cool.
yesterday, went with wayne to marina quay markets, a really up-market looking place but sadly is like half closed because there's not many people stayin around there and it is quite a drive for others to get up there. but it's very nice, there are cafes where u can sit by the river and all, if i were in university here i'd definitely go there to study. it's just so quiet and a nice breezy pretty and conducive place to study.
after that we headed to sanctuary cove which is an atas place, somewhat reminded me of the yacht place in telok blangah in singapore (which is like 50 times smaller than this place), and also like rodeo drive in LA. they have a yacht dock there with lots of boats, and shops that sold ed hardy shirts for $100-$200+ and jeans going for $660. took a walk at the hyatt hotel as well and that was pretty too. we had lunch with wayne and his dad and his stepmom (yes i know seems strange we're eating lunch with his dad lol, but he's a engaging and funny guy too) at this seafood restaurant that had half price lunch (and even after half price it is like normal price at other places lol) and it was like overlooking the yacht dock with the river and all the boats. really pretty place. the tables were so tiny though, and they gave us so much water and drinks that there was like pretty much no place for anything else.
after lunch we took a little walk around the place and stuff, and ended up having coffee at this really nice coffee place which smelt really aromatic and had pretty cakes and eclairs but were small and expensive. the coffee was really good though. all in all a nice relaxing afternoon in a beautiful place, with good food and good coffee.
in any case, i think life is finally righting itself. i am now enjoying weekends more than weekdays at work. perhaps certain circumstances not within anyone's control at work has made things a little not so enjoyable for me. and yes soon in a month and a half it's time to go home. once again, like the other time in US, i enjoyed US a lot, but when it was time to go, i felt it was time to go and i looked forward to going back. even though i do miss the US now. similarly here, i enjoy my time in Aust a lot, but i think by end april/mid may..i'll feel yes it is time to go back, and i will be looking forward to being home again. just hope that i'll continue enjoying my stay here for the next 1 1/2 months. haha. hope work will be kind to me.
