claypot bak kut teh yummmmm
it was raining the whole day..but when we got home, we had piping hot claypot bak kut teh bubbling on a gas stove on the dining table awaiting us.
the soup was really nice and herby and just slightly peppery, with dao pok and mushrooms and pork etc and i ate the meat with dark soy sauce and chilli, and they had like chinese tea in the chinese style teacups and all. aunt suvy also roasted the 烧肉 until it was totally crispy and tasted really really nice. like for me, i never ever eat 烧肉 because i'm afraid of the fatty taste and texture, but this was like baked/roasted to a crisp that it tasted so good i kept on eating it. it was a fantastic dinner to eat on a cold rainy day!
